Monday through Wednesday 2/10/14 – 2/12/14
I didn’t use my planner as much as I need to the last few days. You see, I don’t technically have my own space. But now that I wrote out that fact (instead of just saying it), I’m going to spend a little time today setting up the guest room with space for me and some of what’s left of my shtuff. (BIG SMILE)
Things are still overwhelming and slow going, as I work on this new schedule – routine. It’s difficult to get back on track when you don’t have to wake up early for anything pressing. The bed is so much more comfortable first thing in the morning. Do you want to get out from under warm, comfy blankets, especially if you’re in the colder regions during this cold front?
Monday I had to wake up early because the roofer was coming. After they started, I went to get my nails done and while I was there, I asked the new girl if she was going to school. She said she had already been to school. She meant nail school, but I meant college. So I replied, “I mean college, to get a degree.” She looked at me as if I were speaking Greek. We talked a little more and she said that famous line, ~~”I’ll do it SOME DAY.”~~ I told her that some day is now. You don’t want to be 60, 70, or 80 yrs. old and some day came and went. She just looked at me and smiled.
(Update on the nail girl: She ended up in one of my college classes in 2014!!! Awesome Sauce!)
I can’t stress enough to all of you… Make the most out of the time God has given you. Some day is NOW!
Tuesday was such a busy day with appointments. I was able to wake up early again because I had somewhere I needed to be. Quite a bit was accomplished, but I didn’t work on some of the “priorities.” It’s time to rethink the list and spend some time being realistic. But I took the first step! I made the list and acknowledged that it needs to be more realistic.
Wednesday wasn’t as easy. I’m really working on waking up early enough to get into a routine. But I really enjoy late night TV with hubby. Even though I woke up later than I wanted, I was able to get ready for the day, juice, make coffee, eat a healthy brunch, study the Word, and take on the rest of the day.
Got my desk set up (childhood desk that I am not parting with), tons of housework completed, over an hour-long conversation with a friend and POOF! Now I’m working on a project.
Journaling my day is helping me to acknowledge where my strengths and weaknesses are. It’s making me more intentionally focused on a life I want for myself.
How’s your day so far?
