God is working behind the scenes for our good and the good of the world. Trust and obey and most of all, HAVE FAITH in Him to do what is best for us.
Genesis 45:5-7 (NIV)
5 And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you. 6 For two years now there has been famine in the land, and for the next five years there will be no plowing and reaping. 7 But God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance.
Joseph had faith, even through his suffering. He had to suffer for others to live. But did he know that while he was going through it? Stop and ponder that question, then let me know in the comments. 😉
His brothers oppressed him and his heart was saddened for many years but he stayed firm in the Lord knowing there was a higher purpose for his suffering. AMEN
Have Faith – God Is Working Behind the Scenes
God uses us for a greater purpose, so we “should” be grateful in our suffering. I know it’s easier said than done, but please don’t lose faith…
Many years ago, our family was at a point in life where we decided to move (again) and needed to sell most of our possessions. At this time, there were missionaries who lived around the corner from us and when the Mom of the missionary family found out about our upcoming move, she told me a story.
When God called her family to go overseas for missions work, she had to get rid of most of her possessions. They had an amazing collection of antiques, a cute home and were comfortable. In order for them to go, they had to sell the things that weren’t needed. Only some of their things could be sent to their new home. In their collection of antiques was a very old spinning wheel. It broke the missionary’s heart to have to let that go, but God called her and she was in obedience.
Years later the family came home and had to find a new place to live, get the few things they had out of storage, and by the grace of God settle into life back in the United States. They started going to garage sales and people from church offered them things they might need or want. I don’t remember exact details of how this happened, but at one point either they were given or were able to purchase at a garage sale, a spinning wheel exactly like the one they had to leave behind.
God takes care of His people who answer His calling. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct they path. Prov. 3:6.
The woman told me that she had to give up everything to go on the mission trip, but God restored most of her possessions when they came home. They trusted, obeyed, and were restored.
Is there something impeding your relationship with God or keeping you from His calling?
