There have been good days and not so good days along my journey. However, with God and a determination, I’ve been able to get through, move forward, and stay happy.
God showed me a few things
If I take time to focus on Him, my day is better and my writing flows. He also had me ask myself the question; Is what I am sharing helpful to readers? And finally, I started to wonder, “What exactly IS a blog post?”. I’m used to writing “articles” on various topics to help others, so I pondered the thought and looked up the definition of “blog post.”
Here is one definition of a blog: a Web site that contains an online personal journal with reflections, comments, and often hyperlinks provided by the writer; also: the contents of such a site[1] – and another: a website containing a writer’s or group of writers’ own experiences, observations, opinions, etc., and often having images and links to other websites.[2]
Journey Of The Busy Woman
Good Days and Not So Good Days
I thought my articles were blog posts. I write about what I’ve learned, needed to learn, or topics of my successes. However, that is not quite the case, hence, my not so good day… trying to figure out how to write – blog like.
Solution
I will share my experiences, as they are happening, in more of a journal like format. My hope is to encourage YOU by sharing my journey – the Journey Of The Busy Woman. Many of you are busy. Most of you following my blog are not in my age range, nor without children in your homes. But one day you might be.
Most of you (if you’ve read my past articles) can see that I’ve been there, done that, and am now in phase three of life. (Hint: The sitemap shows you most of what I’ve written.) I don’t really know how this will evolve because I’m not there yet.
What I do know is that when we put our heart and soul into words, in a document or on paper, a blog post is born. After writing, put it aside for a day or so. This is your first draft. Next, come back to it with a fresh mind. Read the entire blog post first, then go back and tweak it.
A Little Tidbit
I started having children at age 20. My life wasn’t planned or thought out, and I didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up. I just knew I wanted to be a mom. (To those of you under 30, get with a financial planner and career coach.) Being a mom was the best! I was meant to be one. But here I am now, learning to get back on track, so I can live a life I love.
The current journey is of an Empty Nester (at a young age I might add) … The good days and not so good days, the tribulations and triumphs, some details of the struggles along the way, and hopefully details of how I worked through those struggles.
So you’ve had a bad day… Shake it off
The past few days were just okay. There were not-so-good moments here and there as I try to get back on track. I shook them off, checked my planner, and worked on some priorities, helped hubby with a deep cleaning, and then spent time with a couple of friends. However, learning to let go of past and current mistakes is tough. It’s a process and one that I’m not proficient. Sometimes the process causes analysis paralysis. Sometimes it takes over my thoughts. But I continue to press on towards the prize.
