Car Organization Plays a Role in Car Safety

Car Organization Plays a Role in Car SafetyKids Backseat Car Organizer by Talus Products - www.thebusywoman.com

According to a recent survey, (NEW YORK, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire)

* 89 percent of women say being well organized in their car helps them keep their eyes on the road.
* 30 percent of women, ages 18-34, say they have either had, or almost had, an accident because they were reaching for or looking for something in their car.
* 62 percent of women say their car is like another living space for them.
* 76 percent of women agree that they crave organization in their lives especially when “on the go.”
* 48 percent of women, and 60 percent of women ages 18-34, say it is a constant battle to keep their cars organized.
* 57 percent of women have gotten creative by adding one or more containers to their cars to help them keep organized.

Today’s craze of organizing our cars is right on the mark. While car companies are now building car organization into their new designs, many of them are still making little mistakes that are keeping the rest of us in business. Here is an example; two children are sitting in the back seat. The seat’s centerpiece folds down and has cup holders in front when it’s folded down, and if you’re lucky, there’s a storage compartment to the rear of the drink holders. Think about it, what would happen to the drink or drinks when the child leaned over to open up this compartment. Can you see it? Or like my van, the side pockets are so odd shaped that not a whole lot fits inside of them. Plus the drink holders are so flimsy that when bumped, they break. And I know about this because my sweet dad bumped one and poof, ruined.

If you have an older vehicle, or one that doesn’t have easy to reach organizer pockets. Here’s a product that might just help: Hopkins Go Gear INTORG-BLA Black Console Organizer. It has two drink holders, a section you can cover to hide things, and three small pockets that perfectly fit a cell phone, PDA and MP3 player.

Finally there is a product designed and tested with driving safety and kids in mind, High Road Kids Large Food’nFun Car Seat Organizer. Now visualize those same two kids tightening their drink containers in a pocket without worrying about spilling, playing on a hard surface with sides so their toys don’t fall off, and having plenty of pockets to put their things in. After I saw my friend use it on her trip across the country, I wondered why they called it a High Road Kids Large Food’nFun Car Seat Organizer. Adults can use it too. It has inside dividers that are adjustable and even buckles into the seat by the seatbelt so it won’t go flying if you hit the brakes!

How do you fair on long car trips when you have to pack drinks and cold items? A company took that into consideration creating a Collapsible EZ Trunk Organizer and Cooler Deluxe that fits the contents of a grocery bag. If this one doesn’t work for you because you need the cooler where you can reach it, they have the High Road Car Seat Cooler (Black). Just reach over, flip up the lid, and grab a drink. Also included are 2 mesh pockets, 2 loops for pens or tire gauge, pocket for mail, notes and more. I wish I had come up with these products!

I personally use the SwingAwayTM Driver Organizer XL because on long trips my maps and extra water bottles fit perfectly in the pockets. It also fits my small first aid kit with such necessities as Band-Aids and Neosporin because if you have children, you “know” how often they need those. {smile}

So plan ahead, organize your car, organize those you love, and everyone will have an easier and safer time traveling to all of those different homes during the holidays.
