Layman’s terms:
Our Commitment To Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested. If you read to the bottom, there is also additional info in plain English.
For questions about this site or to have your information removed from our store (if you have ever ordered), please contact susie (at) thebusywoman.com.
The Information We Collect:
This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on The Busy Woman website. On some pages, you can order products, make requests, and register to receive materials. The types of personal information collected at these pages are:
Name
Address
Email address
Phone number
Please NOTE that your credit card information is only entered when you go to PayPal at paypal.com. That information is not entered on our website and we cannot access that information in any way.
The Way We Use Information:
We use the information you provide about yourself when placing an order only to complete that order or to check on a problem you might have while placing the order. We do not share this information with outside parties. This information is only accessible by the owner of the site, the site webmaster, tech support from our web host, SiteGround, and/or Paypal.
We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties, rented as a list, or supplied to anyone else.
We use your registered email address to “occasionally” notify you of important news and product updates that take place with The Busy Woman. We ONLY email you if you have subscribed to our email list giving you the option to opt out. We do NOT use your email address in our shopping cart to send you mail UNLESS it is to send your order or reply to your correspondence.
The only reason you would register/create an account with our website is if you are ordering or planning on ordering. This will allow you to save the contents of your shopping cart should you choose to return at a later date to complete your order. Information you submit on our website will not be used for purposes other than to ship your order and to update you 2 – 4 times per year if there is a major change within the website.
We may use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our website and to share with advertisers. For example, we may tell an advertiser that X number of individuals visited a certain area on our website, or that Y number of men and Z number of women filled out our registration form, but we would not disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals.
Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.
