Everyone Should Take Time For A Coffee

The Movie

Have you seen the movie, “My Life In Ruins”? There’s a quote that makes me think of many of the articles and blogs I’ve written over the years. Here is the quote: Poupi Kakas, “Everyone should take the time for a coffee.”

It’s in the movie, because it’s true! Did you know that in Europe they take the entire month of August off for vacation? Factories shut down and everything!

Me Time

Seriously though, everyone should take time for a coffee, or tea, or glass of water, whatever floats your boat. What it really means is to take time to stop, sip, and savor, whether it is food, drink, or friendship. How about savoring time alone, or time to rest your mind?

I love going to Starbucks, getting a Mocha, and reading my iPad while sipping my treat. Chocolate with coffee sipped slowly is my idea of a wonderful time! I could go with a friend or alone. Sometimes I like to sit quietly and people watch. The point is to get away and do something that makes you happy, lifts your spirits, and gives your mind a break.

Rest

There’s so much outside stimulation coming at us visually and audibly that your mind and ears need the rest. What do YOU do to give your mind rest, a happy moment, or lift your spirits? Inquiring minds would like to know.

I love coffee shops! Especially locally-owned venues with unique charm. I film a weekly video talk show in an independent coffee shop in downtown Conroe, Texas. It’s fun and groovy.
