Since I was having so much fun organizing our new home, I thought I’d share my closet organizing journey and the products I like. This series of videos show simple solutions for your closet organizing. For those who love organizing products, come have some fun with me.
Closets come in all shapes and sizes
I had many different size closets over the years. In this new to me house is the largest one yet. I decided to take as much as I could out of my dresser and put it in the closet because sometimes my husband sleeps in and I don’t want to wake him with the noisy handles of the dresser. I also want everything in one place.
When I first started putting things into this closet, I had no idea how it was going to pan out. It was a matter of trial and error. Some organizing took weeks, not one or two days, because you have to try things in different places before you know if they will work in that spot. I tried all sorts of variations of where the clothing, shoes, purses, and other items would go.
As you’ll see in the videos, it turned out pretty great and continues to get better. Many people don’t care about organizing their closets. I’m not talking to them. I’m talking to you. You’re here because you’re either curious, you love organizing as much as I do, or a tidy closet makes you feel good.

There was more clothing that goes on this shelf, but they were in the wash and not all of them fit on this shelf. |

More Trial & Error
Things were getting tight in one section of the closet where I hang my short sleeve shirts. While I could use the hanging section above the bins you see before this section, I’m short and the less I have to use my stepstool, the better.
I ordered a closet organizer hanger that came as a set of two and was to hold 16 of my tanktops and short sleeve shirts. It just didn’t work out well for me, so I ordered a different type. Here’s a video showing the problem and solution.
The second to last item in my closet is the ottoman. I was using a step stool to help me put on my shoes, but A. it’s too short and B. it’s a stool I “step” on. After searching for a while, look what I found! It needed to be a certain height so my feet touched the floor. Many of these types of ottoman’s and stools are between 15-18 inches. I really liked a round one that was a little more fancy. However, 18 inches was just too tall for my small stature, so the square one it is.
